Small exporters’ problems

Published March 12, 2003

KARACHI, March 11: The Union of Small and Medium Enterprises (Unisame) has received complaints from its medium size spice manufacturers and exporters that their association is not active in resolving their problems.

In a representation made before the Unisame some of the leading exporters have complained that despite a lot of potential in exports their representative body is not looking into issues confronting small and medium size exporters.

Similarly, they pointed out that the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) is not taking interest in promotion of export of spices whereas Pakistan has best quality chilli, coriander, turmeric and cumminseeds crops. The country also has good crop of sesame seeds and fenugreek which have good export market.
