Faisal to approve transfers in CDA

Published March 11, 2003

ISLAMABAD, March 10: Interior ministry has directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) administration to get approval of the federal interior minister, Faisal Saleh Hayat, before issuing transfer orders of officials of BPS-17 and above.

A source told Dawn that the decision had created resentment among the CDA officials.

After issuance of the orders, the officials having influence in the interior ministry are struggling to get lucrative posts in the Capital Development Authority, he added.

Before this decision, transfer of officials were made by the authority’s chairman under the CDA Ordinance-1960.

The source said the decision of the interior ministry was a serious violation of the ordinance.

Following the decision, the process of transfers has become lengthy causing wastage of time and inconvenience to the Capital Development Authority employees, he added.
