Five Wapda employees dismissed

SUKKUR, Nov 30: Five employees of WAPDA Sukkur including four meter readers and a supervisor were dismissed from service on the charge of intentionally recording wrong reading to annoy the consumers and defame Wapda.

Earlier all these five employees were placed under suspension by the Wapda chief on the complaint of the consumers at an open kutchehry held in Sukkur. The bills were checked on the spot and the complaint were found genuine and an XEN, one SDO and four meter readers and one supervisor were immediately suspended.

After disciplinary proceeding four meter readers and one supervisor were dismissed from service.

Those dismissed include Qamer Din, Mehboob Ali, Muhammad Juman, Mazher Ali and Nisar Shaikh.

PRESS CLUB: Garhi Khairo Press Club was set ablaze by unidentified persons between the night of Tuesday and Wednesday.

Reports said the unidentified intruders sprinkled kerosene oil and set ablaze the Press Club as a result all the furniture, fixture and other articles were completely gutted and the office record was also turned to ashes. Cause of the fire could not be ascertained. The intruders while fleeing took away fax machine, telephone set, photos of the journalists and Holy Qura’n with them. The incident had been widely condemned.

KILLED: A man and a woman were killed in separate incidents in Raza Goth and Nabi Bux village, district Ghotki the other day.

According to reports, three armed persons in village Nabi Bux gunned down a landlord Allah Dino son of Gul Muhammad, 24. Police said that the deceased was ploughing the field when the gunmen appeared on the scene and opened fire.

Two bullets pierced into his head and he died on the spot. The cause of killing was not ascertained, while two persons Allah Wadhayo and Arbab were injured. In another incident, 26- year old Mst Nazeeran wife of Ali Bux was gunned down in Raza Goth on the pretext of Karo-kari. No arrest was reported.
