QUETTA, March 6: Chief Minister Jam Mir Mohammad Yousaf said on Thursday that Balochistan needed more resources and Islamabad’s financial assistance for improving the standard of education.

During a meeting with Education Minister Zubaida Jalal, he said the provincial government was taking measures for the improving the standard of education and increasing the literacy rate in Balochistan.

“Despite the efforts, Balochistan needs more federal financial assistance,” Jam Yousaf said and added that establishment of standard residential educational institutions was needed in the province, to fulfil the requirement of students of the far-flung areas.

He said establishment of technical institutions was very important.

He expressed the hope that the federal government would provide resources to the province in this connection.

The minister said the government was giving full attention to the promotion of education in the less developed provinces.
