Landhi Friends home by 65 runs

KARACHI, Nov 29: Landhi Friends helped on by an attacking 52 off 30 deliveries by opening bat Alay Haider, notched up a 65-run victory over Asghar Ali Shah Club in the 13th Aga Khan Gymkhana Ramazan cricket tournament, played at the Aga Khan Gymkhana Thursday.

Batting first, Landhi Friends hit up 185 for nine in 25 overs with Alay Haider (52) and M.H. Zafar (33) giving their side a great start with an opening partnership which yielded 62 runs. Ashraf Ali and Wajid Ali also batted well for 25 runs apiece.

Right-arm leg-spinner Malik Rasheed was the most successful bowler picking up (3-29) in his five over spell.

Needing 186 runs for victory, Asghar Ali Shah CC after a good start by Nadeem Shiekh (37) and Asghar Mehdi, who put on 43 runs for the first wicket, wilted against the bowling of Alay Haider and Shahid Hussain (2-13) each and Abdur Rehman (2-28) and were bundled out for 120 runs in 20.4 overs. Irfanullah remained unbeaten with 36 runs to his credit.
