GUJRANWALA, March 5: An MPA’s brother and his two gunmen were booked on Wednesday for entering an examination centre in Ghumanwala village and for providing printed material to candidates during the secondary school annual examinations, 2003.
Saifullah Virk, brother of MPA Amanat Virk, intruded into the centre along with his two gunmen, humiliated superintendent Ms Azra when she raised an objection. He threatened her and other vigilant staff with dire consequences and provided printed material to his relative candidates.
On receiving information, BISE Chairman Dr Muhammad Aslam Ghauri and controller examinations Muhammad Ahtaram Dar reached there and got registered an FIR against Virk and his gunmen.

At a meeting held on Wednesday with Motor Transport Federation president and transport advisory committee member Mohammed Iqbal, the participants regretted that the oil prices had increased thrice during the last two months, but the fares had not been raised.
They urged the Punjab government to raise the fares instantly. They threatened that they would go on strike on Monday if the government did not increase the fares within three days.
Meanwhile, the commuters have opposed a raise in fares, and said transporters and public vehicle owners were already charging high fares.
SUICIDE: A jobless youth committed suicide by taking poison in Baghbanpura here on Wednesday.
Usman quarrelled with his parents and in dejection he swallowed pills. He died on the spot.
Meanwhile, a woman committed suicide by taking poisonous pills over a domestic issue in Baghbanpura here on Tuesday.
Reports said Rahmat Bibi took poison following a querrel with her inlaws.
Police are investigating.
HANDCUFFED: The Banking Court No 1, Gujranwala, on Tuesday got an industrialist handcuffed in the court and later sent him to jail for defaulting on a bank loan.
Industrialist Mohammad Iqbal owed Rs295,000 to the HBL’s Bank Square branch.
The court also ordered auction of the properties of Amin, Sharif and Ashraf and issued warrants of arrest for 11 other defaulters.
