BEIJING, NOV 29: A spokeswoman for Chinese foreign ministry, Zhang Qiyue, on Thursday said that President Pervez Musharraf’s visit to China would be important for bringing the two countries closer and strengthening their cooperation in the fields of common interest.

The visit next month would also be bringing to its height the marking of 50th anniversary of establishment of their diplomatic relations in the new century, she said.

She told reporters at a press briefing that the two sides were preparing for the visit.

President Musharraf would visit China on the invitation of President Jiang Zemin.

She said “the visit would be successful in further strengthening their relations for the mutual benefit of their people.”—APP
