RAJANPUR, March 4: Two platoons each of the Punjab Constabulary and the Rangers have been sent to Rojhan to check dacoity incidents there.

This was stated by Dera Ghazi Khan police range DIG Asif Nawaz while talking to newsmen at the Rest House here on Tuesday.

He said another armoured vehicle had also been provided to the Rojhan police. The police telecommunication would also be upgraded.

He said the IGP had announced that the heirs of DSP Naveed Ikram would get a compensation of Rs1 million instead of Rs500,000, his widow would get life pension while his son would be appointed as an assistant sub-inspector.

Recommendations have also been sent to the authorities for the allotment of state land to the family of the slain DSP.

The DIG also announced that he would give one-month salary to the heirs of the DSP.
