Two schools blown up

GHALANAI, Nov 2 Two government schools were blown up in Safi tehsil of Mohmand Agency on Tuesday, taking the number of educational institutions destroyed in the tribal region to 60.

Suspected militants blew up the girls' primary school in Sagai and boys' primary school in Sagi Bala village.

Meanwhile, at least 17 suspected militants were killed and 10 others injured when helicopters attacked the Dwaizai area.

Several militant hideouts and bunkers in the area along the Afghan border were destroyed in the attack on Monday.

According to officials, bodies of some of the militants were buried in Dwaizai on Tuesday and the rest were sent to Bajaur Agency and Swat. The militants killed included Israr Khan of Tangi Charsadda, Zamir Gul of Dwaizai and Rahamdal Khan of Inzari Miangan, an official said.
