ISLAMABAD, March 1: A six-member delegation of the state legislators of New Hampshire, US, called on President Gen Pervez Musharraf on Saturday.

They discussed various aspects of Pakistan-US relations and the situation in South Asia with particular reference to the resolution of the Kashmir problem.

The legislators supported Pakistan’s position on the Kashmir issue and condemned the human rights violations committed by the Indian troops across the Line of Control.

They appreciated the steps taken by Pakistan to de-escalate tension with India and improve bilateral relations.

The legislators also commended Islamabad for its commitment and support in the war against terrorism.

They stressed the need for a strong US commitment towards Pakistan and to enhance relations between the two countries.

The delegation comprised representatives Robert J. Guida, Saghir A. Tahir, Michael Albert, Henry McElroy, Kimberley Dionne and Senator Frank V. Sapareto.—PPI
