MIRPURKHAS, March 1: A group of members of the Mirpurkhas District Council boycotted the council’s meeting on Friday to protest against insanitary condition of the city and attitude of officers concerned.

Speaking at the meeting, Yawar Ali Khan, Zulfiqar Ali Junejo, Mirza Masroor Baig, Malik Liaquat Ali and Iftikhar Arain deplored Mirpurkhas lacked proper sanitary and drainage systems, and rain and sewage water was standing on roads and streets.

They criticized the taluka municipal administration for not draining out filthy water.

Some of the members slammed the DCO for not attending the meeting.

On the request of Shahnaz Bano and Rahim Bux Baloch, the meeting offered condolence for the people died in the recent air crash, Shirin Amir Begum, the widow of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, and Khalid Bin Waleed of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement.

Naib Nazim Nawab Mohammad Younus Talpur presided over the meeting.
