LAHORE, Nov 28: Inside-right Mudassar struck thrice to propel Star Club past Amanat Club 6-1 in the Ramazan-ul-Mubarak Inter-Club hockey tournament at the National Hockey Stadium Wednesday.

Ideal Club edged out Gulberg Club 3-2 and Lahore Young Club beat Tariq Club 4-1 in other matches.

Star Club proved too powerful for Amanat Club in a one-sided encounter. Besides Mudassar’s three goals, Rauf, Mansoor and Iftikhar scored a goal each for the winners. Amanat Club’s one goal was netted by Bilal.

In a close fight, Ideal Club managed to beat Gulberg Club with centre-forward Dilber Khan scoring twice while inside-right Arshad the other one. Both the goals of the Gulberg Club were hammered home by outside-left Rana Naeem.

For the Lahore Young Club, inside-right Tipu scored two goals while Zahid Khan and Fayyaz a goal each in the match against Tariq Club. The only goal of the losing club was scored by Umar Khan.
