KARACHI, Feb 27: Eight ships carrying crude oil, containers and coal are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.
Berthing activity at the wharves was remained slow where only one container vessel, Hyundai Advance was berthed after the sailing of five. The slow berthing was attributed to delayed arrivals of some container vessels.
The ships, which departed included APL Cairo, Hyundai Advance, Thia Curyssoula, Kaghan, and Medimar, while Challenge Express, India Star, Al-Mirqab and MOL Sincerity are due to sail out on Friday.
A total tonnage of 73,536 tons comprising 36,518 tons of export cargo including 3,979 tons of rice and 22,586 tons of molasses and naphtha and 37,018 tons of import tonnage was handled.
The following ships are due on Friday: Shirvan and Seram Sea, with 62,000 and 61,000 tons of crude oil, Iron, Kota Tegap, Korea Star, Ocean Lune, Wan Hai 302 and Sargodha.
KARACHI, Feb 27: A cargo volume of 36,035 tons comprising 32,499 tons of import cargo and 3,536 tons of export tonnage was handled during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release here on Thursday.
Four vessels, Cma Cgm Capela, Tern, Astro Pegasus and Edco Star were busy in loading/offloading containers, general cargo, furnace oil and iron.
Two ships, Andros and Francisca Schulte were expected to take berths at Steel Jetty and QICT. Cma Cgm Capela and Edco Star were sailed out on Thursday.
