KARACHI, Feb 26: Yasir Hameed continued his dream run with the bat to score a superb 109, which helped PIA beat Pakistan Customs by 70 runs in the opening Pool ‘B’ match of the NBP One-day Patron’s Cup at National Stadium here on Wednesday.
Yasir, who made a career-best 207 in the final of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy last week, struck nine fours in his 139-ball knock as PIA piled up 299 for eight in their 50 overs. Bazid also excelled with a rapid 50 off only 34 balls, stroking a brace of sixes and four fours.
Customs, in reply, were restricted to 229 for eight despite half-centuries by skipper Aamir Bashir (63 off 72 balls, eight fours) and Asif Iqbal (555 off 90 balls, three fours).
Pakistan discard Shoaib Malik picked up four for 37 with his off-spinners.
In other matches of this pool, Karachi Whites crushed Dadu by eight wickets while Lahore Blues defeated Bahawalpur by four wickets.
