LAHORE, Feb 26: The Punjab Assembly deputy speaker on Wednesday banned the bringing of cell phones into the house to avoid inconvenience.
Provincial food minister Chaudhry Iqbal was using his cell phone when PML-N’s Shaikh Amjad Aziz pointed out to the chair, being held by deputy speaker Shaukat Mazari at that time, that use of cell phones by various members of both treasury and opposition benches was causing much inconvenience to other colleagues besides disturbing the sound system. He urged the chair to ban bringing of the phone sets into the house.
The chair immediately agreed to the proposal and banned the use of cell phones in the house.
