KARACHI, Feb 25: Four ships carrying containers, high speed diesel and to load molasses are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.
Berthing activity at the wharves was on the higher side where six ships were allotted berths. They are: Kota Itan, MOL Sincerity, Global Progress, Kota Wirawan and Australia Bridge, which will unload and load containers and Thia Chryssoula, to unload steel coils.
Sailing on the other hand was modest as only two ships, Bunga Masdua and Global Progress departed, while Kota Wirawan, Al-Cyonida, Effy-N, Ben Aicha, Kota Intan, Australia Bridge and Kaghan are expected to sail out on Wednesday.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side as the total tonnage rose to 0.106m tons comprising 34,809 tons of export cargo including 11,800 tons of molasses and 71,293 tons of import cargo, which also included 45,271 tons of oils.
The following ships are due on Wednesday: Challenger Express, with high speed diesel, Pergamos to load 15,500 tons of molasses, Sima Bahar and Hyundai Advance, with containers.

Berth occupancy remained modest as three ships, Edco Star, Bruce Park and Chem Road Mega were at the wharves discharging iron ore, chemicals and edible oil respectively.
A cargo volume of 8,748 tons entirely of import was handled.
Eight vessels, Capalla, Tern, Astro Pegasus, Andros, Fu Man, Iran Saedi, Devon and Merapi were awaiting berths at the outer anchorage. Bruce Park sailed out.
