One killed, 24 injured in accident

KHAIRPUR, Feb 24: A person, who was critically injured on Monday in a road accident near the Shah Hussain Chowk bypass, succumbed to his injuries in a local hospital here.

The deceased, identified as Shahan, son of Rasool Bakhsh Chandio, was among the 25 persons injured after a Sukkur-bound wagon (R-1620) turned turtle on the National Highway.

The wagon was coming from Ranipur.

The injured include Mushtaq Ahmed, Rajab Ali, Mohammad Hassan, Mukhtiar Ahmed, Hameer Ali, Hajran, 6, Lal Pari, 3, Ms. Zohran, Ms. Waziran, Ms. Razia and Ms. Morzadi.

The condition of Mushtaq Ahmed and Lal Pari was said to be critical.

Most of the injured belong to Shikarpur and Larkana districts and were returning after attending a marriage ceremony in Sobhodero taluka.

Some of the injured, contacted by this correspondent, complained about the apathy of the doctors, saying that doctors had not given proper care to the seriously injured persons, adding that they had even delayed providing them treatment.

They also complained that most of their articles were missing after the accident.

DIES: A minor girl, Safia Noonari, died after falling into a well near Noonari village the other day.

She fell into the well while playing. She was brought out by the villagers in an unconscious condition.

She was rushed to the Khairpur Civil Hospital but died on the way.
