KARACHI, Feb 24: Over 70 per cent work on Shah Faisal flyover has been completed and hopefully, the project will be completed before August 14.

This was stated at a briefing given to the DCO, Mir Hussain Ali, on Monday.

The DCO directed that the pace of work on the project be geared up and it should be ensured that the project is completed on time, so that the problems of the people of Shah Faisal Colony and its adjoining areas could be solved.

He said that quality of the work be maintained and other requirements of the construction work should be met.

He was informed that Rs263 million were being spent on the project.

The flyover will be 360 meter long and 17.5 meter wide and it will have four ramps.

There will be two ramps of 240 and 233 meter length at Sharea Faisal, and two ramps connecting Shah Faisal Colony will be 223 and 200 meter long.

The work on the project was initiated by the city district government on Aug 15, 2001.—APP
