HYDERABAD, Feb 23: Speakers at a seminar on “Importance of Mother Tongue in Education” have demanded that the teaching of Sindhi language from class-III to XII should be ensured in all the government and private educational institutions.

The seminar was held at Dr Baloch Auditorium of the Sindhi Language Authority on Friday.

In a resolution, the seminar demanded that the government educational institutions and other organizations should be bound down to purchase Sindhi books for their libraries.

It also demanded that the timing for Sindhi programmes on state radio and TV should be increased and Sindhi programmes should also be broadcast by the FM channels.

In yet another resolution, the seminar demanded that the Sindhi print media should be given adequate advertisements by the government.

Speakers at the seminar included Dr Mohammad Qasim Bughio and Dr Habibullah Siddiqui.
