LARKANA, Feb 22: Members of the Dokri taluka council took out a procession in Dokri on Saturday against alleged interference of the Sindh government in Larkana district government affairs.

After marching on main roads of the town, the participants converged outside the local press club.

Speaking on the occasion, Imamuddin Saryo and Muhib Pirzado accused the provincial government of weakening the district government by interfering in its affairs.

They said that transfers and postings in government departments were being made without consulting the district Nazim.

They also staged a sit-in at the main roundabout of the town.

THAL CANAL: Twenty five activists of the Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party observed a token hunger strike in Ratodero on Saturday against construction of the Thal Canal.

Talking to journalists, the protesters said that with the construction of the canal, land of Sindh would be ruined, which was already affected by acute water shortage.

They said that the construction of the canal would push growers of Sindh to starvation.
