PESHAWAR, Feb 22: City police had arrested eight alleged gangsters and recovered illicit weapons and booty from their possession, SSP Sadiq Kamal Orakzai told a press conference on Saturday.

He said that after receiving information police arrested Javed alias Mamy who, during an interrogation, named 12 other members of the gang. They were involved in more than 27 cases of heinous crime, he added.

The arrested accomplices were identified as Shafirullah, Said Faqir, Ashraf Khan, Amin alias Panch Dazai, Ayub, Peter Masih and Mohammad Gul. Names of the five others were not disclosed by the SSP.
