KARACHI: Four die in road accidents

KARACHI, Feb 22: Four people including two policemen died in road accidents at separate places in the city on Saturday.

The police said two policemen, Asif Mohammad, 24, and Jamshed Iqbal, 26, were going on a motorbike to join their duty in Khwaja Ajmer Nagri police lines from their Liaquatabad police lines residences. As they reached near the water pump roundabout in F.B. Area, a minibus of route ‘N’ (JE-8333) knocked them down. Both policemen died on the spot.

The police arrested the driver, Azizur Rehman, and impounded the minibus.

In Landhi, a Muslim Coach (PE-9062) overturned when its driver tried to save a woman, who was crossing the road in the Shah Latif police limits. The woman was crushed to death and seven others were injured.

The woman was later identified as Amlook, 35. Her corpse was handed over to her family after the postmortem examination.

Abdul Wahid, 25, died after he was hit by a train at Malir Halt.
