20 stranded villagers evacuated

GUJRANWALA, Feb 20: The district administration with the help of army boats on Thursday evacuated 20 villagers stranded in Chenab Bela, Wazirabad.

The villages along the banks of river Chenab and Pulkho Nullah have also been vacated due to expected flood.

The rescue operation of the district administration was continuing till late at Thursday night at Chenab Bela.

The district administration arranged army boats and took out the stranded villagers in morning hours as the water level in the Head Khanki was rising swiftly.

Meanwhile, DCO Iftikhar Ahmad, EDO (revenue) Tahir Khursheed and Wazirabad district magistrate Sara Aslam visited the affected areas and reviewed the flood situation in river Chenab and Pulkho Nullah.
