SIALKOT, Feb 18: DPO Shahid Iqbal has tendered his apology to Sialkot’s journalists for passing disgraced remarks and threatening them with dire consequences for ‘reporting against the police interest’.

Speaking to newsmen at the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Tuesday, the DPO said “it was only a misunderstanding and I openly apologize from the protesting journalists”.

SCCI President Babar Iqbal also withdrew his remarks which he had passed against the journalists in his previous press conference, hurting badly the local journalists.

In response, the journalists called off their protest against the Sialkot DPO and ensured their full cooperation to police for curbing the menace of heinous crimes.
