HYDERABAD, Feb 17: The Sindh University Teachers Association on Monday held a condolence meeting to pay tribute to late Prof Nazir Ahmed Mughal, chairman of the university’s Department of Social Work.

Speakers, on the occasion, eulogized the services of the late professor in the cause of promotion of education, specially in disciplines of social work and social sciences.

The vice chancellor of the university said that late Prof Mughal was a teacher in the real sense, adding that the deceased was a lover of new knowledge and had been helpful towards his students and colleagues in the department.

Dr S. M. Saeed described late Prof Mughal as being a practical man and said that he helpful to people around him.

Prof Mohammad Zahid Nizamani, Prof Ghulam Hyder Baloch, Dr Shamsuddin Shaikh, president of the SUTA, also spoke on the occasion.

Late Prof Nazir Ahmed Mughal, who died on Feb 14, served as a member of the academic council and senate of the university.

The condolence meeting, which was held in the university’s Jamshoro campus in the faculty of arts, was presided over by the vice chancellor of the university, Mazharul Haq Siddiqui.
