KARACHI, Feb 17: A meeting of the provincial steering committee on Draught Emergency Relief Assistance approved 67 schemes on Monday.

The meeting was held under the chairmanship of the additional chief secretary (development), Ghulam Sarwar Khero, in his office.

The meeting discussed various development schemes initiated under this programme in various districts. The additional chief secretary urged the DCOs concerned to personally monitor schemes in their respective areas so that maximum number of population could be benefited.

The meeting approved development schemes amounting to Rs. 396 million for three districts Dadu, Jacobabad, Khairpur in road sector, water supply, health, agriculture and irrigation schemes.

There are ongoing schemes in 13 districts, which cover the arid areas, excluding Hyderabad, Nawabshah and Naushero Feroze districts.—PPI
