KARACHI: Young man killed

KARACHI, Feb 16: Two persons killed a young man by setting him on fire in Shahrah-i-Noor Jehan police limits late Saturday night.

The police said that Mohammed Khalid, aged 17, was alone in his house in sector 7-C of North Karachi when a man, identified as Jan Mohammed, and an unknown woman barged into the house, doused Khalid in kerosene and set him on fire. The assailants escaped.

Khalid was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he died.

Khalid’s father, Mohammed Mikaeel, lodged an FIR against the two suspects at the area police station.

DIES: The body an unidentified man was recovered from a well in Korangi Industrial Area on Sunday.

The police said that the body of an unidentified man, who was in his mid-40s, was recovered from a well inside Darul Uloom (religious school) Korangi.

The body was sent to Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre (JPMC).

After post-mortem, the body has been kept in the Edhi’s morgue.

ELECTROCUTED: A worker died of electrocution while working in a factory at Ibrahim Hyderi on Sunday.

The police said that Mubarak Shah, aged 35, suffered a severe electric shock in a fish processing unit. He died on the spot.

The body was sent to the JPMC for post-mortem.
