KARACHI, Feb 16: PIA’s post-Hajj operation, which commenced on February 15, entails a total of 310 flights from Jeddah to the five major domestic stations across the country.
The first three post-Hajj flights, arriving at Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore from Jeddah on Saturday, transported a total of 270 Hujjaj to Karachi, whereas flights to both Islamabad and Lahore transported 433 pilgrims on each of the two flights.
Similarly, the first post-Hajj flights arriving on the same day at both Peshawar and Quetta transported 270 pilgrims to each of the two provincial capitals.
PIA’s one-month post-Hajj operation will be transporting a total of 109,598 Hujjaj on its 310 flights, that is 64 flights to Karachi, 62 to Quetta, 61 to Peshawar, 48 to Islamabad and 75 flights to Lahore.
Director Finance PIA Kaleem Malik and Director Flight Services PIA Umar Ghafoor were present on arrival to welcome the Hujjaj at Karachi airport on Saturday.
For the convenience of pilgrims, PIA has made special arrangements to provide complimentary “Aab-i- Zam Zam” in 10 litre cans to all the Hujjaj on their arrival at various airports in Pakistan.—APP
