Dacoits loot house

Published November 28, 2001

NOWSHERA, Nov 27: Three unidentified dacoits took away cash and valuables from a house in the armoured colony here on Tuesday morning.

The dacoits forced their way into the house of Haji Faqir Mohammad while he was going out to say morning prayers along with his son. They locked all the family members in the washroom at gunpoint and made away with cash, jewellry and other valuables.

The residents, who had gathered to condemn the daring dacoity, marched to the GT Road and blocked the main road in protest.

They alleged that the gang was carrying out their activities in the area in connivance with the police.
