Anti-US rally held

KHAIRPUR, Feb 15: The Citizen’s Action Committee on Saturday staged a rally here to protest against the possibility of an American attack on Iraq.

The protesters, who were led by the PPP MPA, Dr Mehreen Bhutto, were raising slogans against the American aggression.

The rally terminated at the Khairpur Press Club.

SUICIDE:An 18-year-old boy, Sarfaraz Jatt, committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree in an orchard in the Sirihum village near Sui.

The incident, which occurred on Wednesday, is said to have occurred because the deceased’s parents had not given him Eidee.

WOMAN INJURED: A woman, Ms. Azizan, was injured after being attacked by a stray dog in Lal Bakhsh village in Gambat taluka on Friday evening. She was admitted to the Civil Hospital, Khairpur.

CLASH: Two persons, Hussain Bakhsh Chakrani and Bahadur Chakrani, were injured on Friday in a clash over a cock-fight in the Chakrani village.

Thari Mirwah police have arrested Imdad Ali and Deedar Ali in this connection.

CHALLANED: Thari Mirwah police have challaned one of the local PPP workers, Suresh Kumar, on charges of keeping Hashish the other day.

He was arrested some four days ago from the Sui area.

Meanwhile, the arrested PPP worker has denied the charges.
