KARACHI, Feb 15: Sindh minister for social welfare and women development Dr. Saeeda Malik has said that to encourage skilled women working at homes and to reinforce their financial position, exhibitions would be held on a regular basis in Sindh for an effective display of their products.

This she stated while presiding over a high-level meeting held in her office on Saturday in Karachi to review the measures undertaken for development of women.

The minister called for utilising empty and inactive centres of social welfare department in the province for training and welfare of womenfolk.

Dr. Saeeda Malik ordered the concerned authorities to seek the help of the federal government in activating the working women’s hostels which are in the possession of unconcerned organisations.

“Those hostels numbering 14 should be used for the purpose they were built,” she said.

Meanwhile, speaking at the first anniversary of Sadiq Danial Pearl at Holy Trinity Church Friday in Karachi, the minister said the government was committed to safeguard the rights of minorities.—PPI
