BEIJING, Nov 27: A spokeswoman of Chinese Foreign Ministry Zhang Qiyue on Tuesday said that the two sides are holding consultations through diplomatic channels to finalize the details of President Pervez Musharraf’s visit to China next month.

Replying to questions at weekly regular press briefing, she said the President Musharraf would be visiting China on the invitation of President Jiang Zemin. The formal announcement to this effect would be made at an appropriate time, she added.

About the on-going visit of Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Wang Yi to Islamabad, she said this was a part of annual diplomatic consultation between the two countries.

The two sides during the talks were scheduled to discuss all issues of bilateral, regional and international concern, including the latest developments in Afghanistan, she added.

Replying to a question, the spokeswoman said the international community should address the root-cause of the “terrorist activities”.—APP
