HYDERABAD, Feb 14: The Lincom Europa, Germany, has published a research work of the chairman of Sindhi Language Authority, Dr Mohammad Qasim Bughio, titled “A Comparative Socio-linguistic Study of Rural and Urban Sindh”.

The aims of the thesis is to determine the extent of linguistic change and influence of Urdu and other languages on urban and rural communities of Sindh.

The study was carried out in the University of Essex, England, under the supervision of Prof Peter Trudgill.

PEASANTS: The central executive committee of Sindhi Hari Tehrik, at a meeting held here the other day, deplored the absence of basic facilities for the peasants.

Arif Junejo presided over the meeting.
