Man murdered over money dispute

RAWALPINDI, Feb 11: One person was shot dead by his rival in a hotel at Committee Chowk on early Tuesday morning, while a body of a man was found near fruit market in Islamabad, police said.

According to the police, Yaqoob Khan, the contractor of a local hotel situated in Waris Khan area, was allegedly shot dead by Jahangir Khan.

Rashid Mehmood, the brother of the deceased lodged an FIR with the police saying that his brother had a money dispute with Jahangir.

The two persons were discussing the issue at the hotel when Jahangir pulled out his pistol and shot dead Yaqoob, the brother stated in the FIR.

The alleged killer escaped from the scene while the body of the deceased was handed over to his family after postmortem, the police said.

Meanwhile, the I-9 police found a dead body of a man wrapped in a blanket lying at a deserted place near fruit market in Islamabad on late Monday night.

The police said the deceased, seemed to be in his 30s, had a bullet wound on his forehead and some torture marks on the body. The body seemed to be two days old, they added.

Nothing else was found from his custody, which could help the police in tracing his family. Nobody had contacted the police to claim the body so far.

KILLED: Two persons were killed in separate road accidents in Rawalpindi and Islamabad on Monday, police said.

Mohammad Fiaz was killed after being run over by a speeding wagon while crossing the road near Soan, police said.

The police said Fiaz was crossing the road when a wagon (IDF- 6719) hit him. As a result, Fiaz was killed on the spot.

The wagon driver identified as Mohammad Mushtaq had been booked by the Civil Lines police and the vehicle was also impounded.

The second accident occurred near Tarnol where a man, Mohammad Tazeem, was killed after being hit by a dumper.

The police said Mohammad Tazeem was travelling in his car (RIV-9767) when a dumper crashed into his vehicle killing him on the spot.
