ISLAMABAD, Feb 11: The roads in the capital presented a deserted look on Tuesday, as most of the people had left the city for their home towns to celebrate Eid.
People thronged the bus stations in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad to reach their home towns to celebrate Eid with their families. The bus stations at Karachi Company, Pir Wadhai, Marrir Chowk and other places remained crowded all the day long.
People faced a great inconvenience in getting seats in buses and wagons. As some bus and wagon stands the passengers and the drivers/conductors exchanged hot words.
Similarly, the Rawalpindi railway station remianed crowded throughout the day due to which most of the people could not reach their destinations.
Some of the passengers accused the railway authorities and the porters of selling tickets in black for the unreserved seats. They also criticised the railway authority for not plying special trains for different destinations.
“People had got their seats reserved a month ahead of Eid, so how can we ignore them and accommodate the new comers,” a railway officer said.
