KARACHI, Feb 11: The Governor of Sindh, Dr Ishratul Ibad has said that Pakistan had come into being as a result of the supreme sacrifices by the Muslims of South Asia and we should follow the Sunnat-i-Ibrahim (AS) to make our homeland stable, prosperous and a truly Islamic state.

In his message on the occasion of Eidul Azha, the governor said that while celebrating the religious festival and keeping its sacred traditions in view, the followers should refresh the real spirit of Uswa-i-Ibrahimi (AS).

He said: “We should learn a lesson from the example of obedience set by the holy prophet, Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) who did not hesitate in sacrificing his son; and should take care of the poor and needy of our society on this occasion.”

Dr Ishrat called for the zeal and spirit among the followers to establish a true civilized society by pursuing the principles laid down by Islam. “We should reform ourselves in the light of Uswa-i-Ibrahim (AS) and Ita’at-i-Ismail (AS),” he remarked while referring to the lifestyle of the two holy prophets.

CM’S MESSAGE: Chief Minister Sardar Ali Mohammad Mahar, in his Eid message, said: “Eidul Azha is a happy occasion which is celebrated throughout the Islamic world with religious fervour and traditional enthusiasm. The day is not only joyous but reminds us of the great sacrifice made by Hazrat Ibrahim (AS). As such, it is our duty to spread the message of sacrifice which not only brings us closer to Almighty Allah but also reminds us that those who make sacrifices, shine in history.”
