Education secretary transferred

LAHORE, Feb 10: The Punjab government on Monday transferred education secretary Sibtain Fazl-i-Haleem and posted him as communication and works department secretary vice Brig Shadab Ali Khan on expiry of his contractual period on Feb 13.

The post of communication and works department secretary will remain upgraded in BPS-21, for so long as it is held by Mr Haleem.

Khushnood Akhtar Lashari, OSD in the Services and General Administration Department, has been posted as Punjab education secretary.

OSD Mohammad Arif Khan has been posted as Jhang DCO against a vacant post.

Allah Bukhsh Malik, additional director-general, Lahore Development Authority, has been transferred and posted as literacy and non-formal basic education department additional secretary against a vacant post.

Aamir Ashraf Khwaja, health department additional secretary, has been transferred and posted as LDA additional director-general.

Lt-Col Aftab Husain Awan (retired) has been appointed on contract in BPS-19 for a period of two years and upon appointment posted as Civil Defence director against a vacant post.

Dr Sadiq Husain Naqvi, additional principal medical officer/EDO (health), Rahimyar Khan, has been promoted to the rank of principal medical officer on regular basis in his cadre and upon promotion, he is allowed to continue as such.

Mumtaz Ali Qureshi, Vehari EDO (revenue), has been promoted to the rank of additional secretary and upon promotion, he is allowed to continue on his present assignment till further orders.

Bashir Ahmad Jhamat, senior headmaster of the Government Model High School, Bhakkar, has been transferred and posted as Bhakkar EDO (education), vice Ali Mohammad Tarrar who has been directed to report to the Bhakkar district government.

The chief minister has assigned the work of implementation and coordination of his directives to Col Shuja Khanzada (retired), special assistant to the chief minister.
