SADIQABAD, Feb 10: Seventeen posts of teachers in different subjects were lying vacant in the Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Firoza, since long.

Dawn learnt that the sanctioned staff strength of the school is 54. Due to staff shortage, PTC cadre teachers are teaching the students of grades nine and 10.

The school administration itself has hired the services of a male teacher in the subject of mathematics.

The parents of the students demanded of the Punjab government and education department high-ups to immediately appoint teachers in the only girls school of Liaquatpur tehsil.
