TOBA TEK SINGH, Feb 9: District Nazim Chaudhry Muhammad Ashfaq on Saturday took notice of banners displayed on various Kamalia tehsil roads by educational institutions to praise MNA Riaz Fatyana for providing gas facility to Kamalia and Pirmahal towns.
At a seminar organized under the auspices of the Punjab Teachers’ Union in Government Middle School, Kot Khitran, he directed district education officer (secondary) to submit him a report after completing an inquiry.
He accepted the teachers’ union demand to reduce half an hour in the working hours of all government primary schools in the district.
He announced that educational institutions would be kept clean from politics, asking the interested teachers to take retirement before joining politics.
A sum of Rs12,000 was provided to each headmaster of the government schools in the district to hold refresher courses for the teachers, directing that those heads who failed to hold courses should return the money to the district government.
