Two of family die on road

GUJRAT, Feb 9: Two members of a family were killed and three others injured when a car rammed into a roadside tree on Mandi Road near Kunjah on Sunday.

The Lahore-bound car rammed into a roadside tree while saving some schoolchildren who were crossing the road. Bashiran Bibi and her six-year-old son Akash died instantly, while her husband, Umar Hayat, son Waqas and daughter Sania sustained injuries.

The injured were taken to the DHQ Hospital from where Sania was shifted to the Mayo Hospital, Lahore, due to her critical condition.

OBITUARY: A senior journalist, S.A. Munshi, died due to protracted illness in Jalalpur Jattan on Sunday. He was 70.

He was buried in his native graveyard. — Correspondent
