KARACHI, Feb 8: The Vice-Chancellor, University of Karachi, Prof Zafar Saied Saify, on Saturday said cancer could be effectively controlled by new methods, developed through research.

Speaking at the Dr Zainul Abideen memorial lecture on “Prevention from Cancer,”

he said scientists and researchers associated with various fields of natural sciences were busy in conducting research to control cancer and expressed the hope that one-day they would be able to uproot the menace.

He Saied Dr Zain would be long remembered for his efforts, as he wanted his students to remain busy in research and development.

Dr Iqbalunnisa Ali and Prof Mohammad Ishaq also spoke.—PPI
