Cuitino and Atif strike for winners

LAHORE, Feb 7: Sunday TV and Master Paints entered the final of the Quaid-i-Azam Gold Cup winning their last group matches on Friday.

Four goals by Guillermo Cuitino, and three each by Atif Yar Tiwana and Hissam Ali Hyder enabled Sunday TV to thrash Remounts 10-3.

TV got off to a flying start (2-0) when Cuitino and Atif opened accounts in the first chukker.

The winners surged 4-1 ahead at the end of second chukker as Atif scored his second and Hissam his first. Khurshid reduced the margin for Remounts.

TV held the 6-3 lead as both sides scored two goals each in the third chukker. Pataudi scored both his goals for the losers. TV extended the lead when Hissam scored his second and Atif his third.

Cuitino scored a hat trick to make it 9-3 and Hissam scored his third goal, in the fifth chukker to complete the scoring.

Master Paints trounced Askari Waters 22-13 as both teams scored eight goals in the second round of five chukkers in the 10-chukker encounter.

Paints led the first five chukkers’14-5 on Tuesday. Shah Shamyl Alam scored three goals. Shah Qublai Alam and Pablo banged home two goals each. Sufi Amir scored a goal.

For the losers, Sattar Niazi contributed four goals while Samiullah added two. Taimur Mawaz Khan and Umar Sadiq chipped in with a goal each.
