1.9 tons of drugs seized

QUETTA, Feb 7: Pishin and Chaghai scouts wing of Frontier Crops have seized around 1.9 tons of morphine and hashish near the Afghan border, sources said.

The Pishin Scouts on a tip-off intercepted armed men bringing drugs from Afghanistan on donkeys in the Roghani and Murda Karez areas on Thursday.

After and exchange of fire, the smugglers fled to Afghanistan.

“We seized 1,000kg of hashish packed in plastic bags,” Pishin Scouts Commandant Col Mohammad Sarwar said on Friday.

Frontier Corps sources said the Chaghai Militia raided an area in Balanosh, Chaghai district, on Monday and seized 875kg of morphine dumped underground. The men guarding the consignment escaped, they said.—Staff Correspondent
