ISLAMABAD, Feb 4: Kashmir Solidarity Day will be observed all over the country on Wednesday (Feb 5), reassuring Pakistan’s full moral and diplomatic support to the freedom movement launched by the Kashmiri people in held Kashmir.

Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali will address Azad Kashmir parliament on Wednesday to reiterate support to the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The Kashmiri people living on either side of the Line of Control will demonstrate in their own way to pressure India not to deviate from the UN Security Council resolutions calling for a plebiscite.

In Pakistan, rallies, symposia and seminars will be organized to express support to the Kashmiri people.

So far, 80,000 people had been killed by the Indian army which failed to suppress freedom struggle over a period of 12 years.

Recent visit of Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri to the United States was a significant event as Pakistan kept Kashmir on the top of the agenda for talks with US Vice President Dick Cheney, Secretary of State Colin Powell and Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld.

Mr Kasuri also told them that the Kashmir solidarity day was the most significant message to India because it lent strength to the Kashmiris engaged in freedom struggle despite the presence of Indian army in the occupied Kashmir in large numbers.

ONE-MINUTE SILENCE: The National Kashmir Committee has proposed to observe one-minute silence throughout the country on Kashmir solidarity day on Feb 5 at 1000 hours.
