BUITMS syndicate holds first meeting

QUETTA, Feb 4: The syndicate of Balochistan University of Information Technology and Management Sciences (BUITMS) on Tuesday decided to award 10 per cent merit scholarships to the students.

The syndicate decided in its first meeting, presided over by Vice-Chancellor Dr Mohammad Abbas Chaudhary, that the scholarships would be given to students of each class on the basis of their performance.

It decided that the staff and faculty members of the university would be given free educational facilities.

It approved a plan for establishing a research centre at the university.

The vice-chancellor said construction of new building of the university would be launched after acquiring land. He said around 1,000 acres were needed for the construction of the new campus and the provincial government had been asked to provide the land.

He said it was expected that the land would be provided near Hazar Genji National Park.
