KARACHI, Feb 2: Sindh Minister for Excise and Taxation Abdul Rauf Siddiqui has paid tribute to the martyrs of Islamic revolution in Iran.

He was speaking at a paintings and handicrafts exhibition, organized by the Iran Cultural Centre to celebrate the 24th anniversary of the Iranian revolution here on Saturday evening.

The minister said that Iran had been enjoying a true and equitable Islamic system which had paved the way for the prosperity and development of the people of Iran.

He said the Islamic revolution led by spiritual leader Imam Ayatollah Khomeini had laid the foundation of progress in Iran.

Referring to Pakistan-Iran relations, the minister said the people of both the countries had been enjoying a strong historical, cultural relations and unbreakable intellectual and literary bonds.

Iran’s Consul General Mohammad Zaeri Amirani, former chief justice of Pakistan Justice Sajjad Ali Shah, Allama Aqeel Turabi and Maulana Asad Thanvi also spoke.

Later, the minister inaugurated the exhibition.—APP
