PESHAWAR, Nov 26: The NWFP government, in collaboration with (United Nations Development Programme) UNDP and Swiss Development Corporation (SDC), intends to open its own website shortly.

This was stated at a presentation given to the provincial minister for finance Farid Rehman, here on Monday.

During the presentation it was stated that besides ensuring transparency, the website would also help the policy makers, planners, potential investors and common citizens to have an easy and quick access to the information about the province.

The presenter, Farid Rehman said the opening of NWFP’s own website was a good initiative and hoped that it would not only provide quick information to the investors, tourists, researchers and planners but would help in promotion of cyber technology and socio-economic development of the province.

The information to be available on the proposed website includes subjects such as history and culture, political background, administrative and judicial setup, new local government system, Afghan refugees, weather, stock exchange and PTCL directory.

The project is being launched by Essential Institutional Reforms Operational Programme (EIROP), established in the P&D with the technical and financial assistance of UNDP and SDC to support the provincial government.
