HYDERABAD, Jan 31: The Sindh government has fixed the sugarcane price at the rate of Rs43 per 40 kilogrammes for the current crushing season.

This was stated in a press release, issued by the cane commissioner, Sindh, Mohammad Siddique Memon.

The cane commissioner further said that in case the mills were making payment at lower rates, the growers should approach him or executive district officer, agriculture/additional cane commissioner of their district with evidence, so that an action could be taken against sugar mills under the Sugar Factories Control Act 1950.

The district Nazims have also been directed to see that the growers were receiving the govrnment-fixed rate of sugarcane.

MUET: The controller of examinations, Mehran University of Engineering and Technology , Jamshoro, has announced the results of Bachelor of Engineering second term final year (‘98 batch), Mechanical Engineering and Bachelor of Engineering first term final year (‘99 batch), and Chemical Engineering regular examinations held in October and November 2002.
