You have to hand it to the young theatre director Dawar Mahmood and his team for keeping theatre-goers glued to their seats for such a long stretch of time.
The play, written by the inimitable Anwar Maqsood, has been going on for many weeks and intends to hit the 100-show mark. The way it is going on, it is sure to set a record of sorts because in Pakistan hardly any theatre production has run for 100 successive shows.
On March 14, members of the Arts Council Karachi were invited to watch Aangan Terha and the auditorium filled up in such quick time that many fans had to sit in the aisles. This, for sure, signifies happy times for the Pakistani theatre scene.
