Tapal record easy victory

KARACHI, Nov 25: Atiq-uz-Zaman hit 58 and Hasan Arshad 49 as Tapal CC upset Baqai Dolphins by 53 runs in the 16th Karachi Gymkhana cricket tournament Sunday afternoon at the Karachi Gymkhana ground.

Tapal CC collected 206 for 7 in 25 overs with other notable run-getters being Nomanullah (32) and Javed Mansoor (21).

Off-spinners Atif Maqbool (2-29) and Saeed Bin Nasir (2-18) shared wickets.

Baqai Dolphins were restricted to 153 for nine wickets by slow left-arm Fahim Ahmed 3/28, Hanif ur Rehman 2/29 and Shahid Iqbal 2/31.

Hasan Raza top scored with 44 runs.

In an earlier match, Ideal CC ended the pretension of Karachi Club by 25 runs.

Ideal CC ran up 193 for six in 22 overs with Mohammad Rizwan (70) and Imtiaz Safdar (44).

Right-arm leg-spinner Raheel Abbas picked up four for 38.

Karachi Club replyied with 168 for 7 in 22 overs.

Skipper Rehan Malik slammed two sixes and four boundaries in his knock of 44 runs which came off only 29 deliveries.

Tabish ur Rehman weighed in with 37 and Fahim Ahmed 20 not out.
